It was a busy Saturday night in the NHL as 11 games were played across the US and Canada. A couple of blowouts and some tight matches defined Saturday's contests.

Golden Knights vs Sabres: BUF wins 4–3 in SO

Vegas forward and former Sabres captain Jack Eichel made another return to Buffalo last night with his team holding a four-point lead in the Pacific Division.

Vegas opened the scoring with two goals from forwards Brett Howden (18) and Pavel Dorofeyev (27), but Buffalo responded with goals from Ryan McLeod (15) and Jason Zucker (19) to tie the game in the third.

It looked like Vegas would walk away with the win when Eichel (21) put home a rebound with two and a half minutes remaining. But with 14 seconds left and an extra attacker on the ice, Rasmus Dahlin wired a slapshot through a screen that beat Adin Hill and sent the game to overtime.

The game ended in a shootout, with the Sabres converting 2-of-3 attempts for the comeback win on home ice.

The Devils narrowed the gap with back-to-back power-play goals from Timo Meier (19) and Nico Hischier (28), making it a 4–3 game in the third.

Tampa Bay dominated the second period with three straight goals and 21 shots—while Boston failed to record a single shot.

An early third-period goal from Bruins forward Marat Khusnutdinov was Boston's only bright spot, as Tampa added two empty-net goals from Brandon Hagel (31) and Anthony Cirelli (22) to complete the 5–2 win.

Shortly after, a bad giveaway from goaltender Linus Ullmark gave Leafs captain Auston Matthews an easy goal—his 24th of the season. But before the second frame ended, Ottawa scored twice through David Perron (5) and Claude Giroux (14).

Giroux’s power-play goal stood as the game-winner, with Michael Amadio (9) adding an empty-netter to secure the win.
